Dustin Hoffman and Alan Rickman will share the bill for a screen adaptation of the successful romantic thriller Perfume by Patrick Suskind. Constantine Films will produce the movie, in which Hoffman plays Guiseppe Baldini, a purfume maker, while Rickman takes the part of Antoine, the father of a young woman who becomes the obsession of main character Jean-Baptist Grenouille, to be played by British actor Ben Whishaw. Grenouille's obsessions turn deadly when he becomes obssessed with creating the scent of a young virgin, in a tale of gothic horror, set in 18th century Paris. |
