Jude Law and his former fiancé Sienna Miller are set to be reunited - as lovers on the London stage.
Sienna has reportedly auditioned for the part of Ophelia opposite Jude’s Hamlet in Kenneth Branagh’s forthcoming production of the Shakespeare tragedy at the Donmar Warehouse. The production of ‘Hamlet’ will also be staged at London’s Wyndham Theatre, where Sienna famously broke down in tears during her performance as Celia in ‘As You Like It’ following her split from Jude in 2005.
The pair separated after Jude, 34, confessed to having an affair with his children’s nanny, Daisy Wright, and Sienna is reportedly worried that starring opposite her former lover could reopen old wounds.
A source is quoted by Britain’s Daily Star newspaper: “Sienna is concerned it will be too painful to play Jude’s tragic partner on stage every night. It will also be dangerous for them to spend so much time together because of their turbulent romantic history. But there’s no denying their chemistry and acting abilities, it would be an electric performance.”
Jude and Sienna briefly reunited in 2006 but could not salvage their relationship and soon separated. This year, Sienna, 25, has been linked to rap star P. Diddy and her 'A Woman of No Importance' co-star Sean Bean. Most recently she has been repeatedly spotted with ‘Notting Hill’ actor Rhys Ifans, sparking rumours their close friendship has blossomed into love.
‘Hamlet’ famously sees the Danish Prince break Ophelia’s heart by spurning her romantic advances. The production is due to open in May 2009.
