Courtney Love has vehemently denied claims she introduced Jack Osbourne to prescription drugs. The former Hole singer was furious after Jack's mother, Sharon, alleged she had given the reality TV star the highly addictive painkiller OxyContin when he was just 15.
Love - who has a 15-year-old daughter, Frances Bean, from her marriage to late husband Kurt Cobain - insists she would never give drugs to a teenager. She fumed: "I never did that. I would never give drugs to a teenager. F**k you Sharon - as if I would ever give drugs to a teenager."
Love, 43, claims she had never seen or heard of OxyContin until she had met Jack. She added: "It was the first time I was ever introduced to the pills." Earlier this month, Sharon claimed Love was to blame for her son's addiction to painkillers.
Sharon said: "I will never have time for Courtney Love. She was the first person to give my son Jack the prescription drug OxyContin. There's not a shadow of doubt in my mind about that. My dislike towards her is very personal. I'M not saying Jack wouldn't have taken it if she hadn't given it to him, but I'M appalled that an adult mother would give that to a 15-year-old boy. How could she do that to someone else's child? I haven't had a row with her, but I will never talk to her."
Jack, now 21, struggled with drink and drug problems and was admitted to a child psychiatric ward for addiction to OxyContin in 2003. After ten days, Jack was transferred to rehab and has been drug-free ever since. |
