Justin Timberlake leads the pack at this year's MTV Europe Music Awards, after receiving four nominations.
The 'SexyBack' singer - who is hoping to replicate his success at the MTV Video Music Awards, where he scooped two prizes - is up for Video Star for 'What Goes Around... Comes Around', Headliner for his successful ‘FutureSex/LoveShow World Tour’ and has been named in the Ultimate Urban category. Justin will also do battle with Mika, Avril Lavigne, Christina Aguilera, Nelly Furtado and Rihanna in the prestigious Solo Artist of 2007.Avril, Christina, Nelly and Rihanna are all up for three awards.
Troubled singer Amy Winehouse has also received three nods, along with Beyoncé Knowles, Fall Out Boy, Linkin Park and My Chemical Romance. Amy is the only female to be shortlisted in the Best UK & Ireland Act category, where she takes on Arctic Monkeys, Klaxons, Mark Ronson and Muse. Amy, 25, has also been nominated for Album of the Year, along with Akon, Avril, Linkin Park and Nelly.
The Band of 2007 award will be contested by Linkin Park, My Chemical Romance, Fall Out Boy, Good Charlotte and Tokio Hotel. Kanye West is set to lock horns again with old rival Justice in the Video Star category, with the hip-hop star's 'Stronger' pitted against 'D.A.N.C.E'. Last year, Kanye stormed the stage after his video for 'Touch The Sky' lost out to the French electronic duo's 'We Are Your Friends'.
Nominees Avril, My Chemical Romance, Mika and the Foo Fighters are expected to perform at the ceremony, which takes place in Munich, Germany, on November 1, with US rapper Snoop Dogg hosting proceedings at the city's Olympiahalle arena.
