Kiefer Sutherland has been arrested on suspicion of DUI (driving under the influence).
The '24' actor was stopped for making an illegal U-turn by police at around 1.10am on Tuesday morning (25.09.07) in West Hollywood.
Kiefer - who had been partying at the FOX Fall Eco-Casino in Arena nightclub earlier in the evening - took a breathalyser test that registered above the state's 0.08 legal alcohol limit before he was taken to the Hollywood police station.
The 40-year-old star, who was described as "co-operative and mellow" while in custody, was booked and released on $25,000 bail at 5.40am on Tuesday.
This isn't the first time the actor has been arrested for suspected DUI. In November 2004, he pleaded no contest to a drink driving charge in Los Angeles. The actor was sentenced to serve 50 hours of community service and fined $500.
Kiefer is due in court on October 16 and if found guilty of a second misdemeanour DUI, he faces a mandatory minimum sentence of five days in jail.
The star's representative was yet to comment on Kiefer's arrest at the time of writing. |
