Lily Allen has offered her support to troubled star Britney Spears.
The 'Smile' singer says watching twice-divorced Britney - who lost custody of her two sons, two-year-old Sean Preston and one-year-old Jayden James earlier this week - go through such a difficult time is deeply saddening.
Lily told Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper: "My heart goes out to her. I feel that she must be in a tough place right now. It's really upsetting."
The 22-year-old star says she finds being a celebrity "nightmarish" at times and claims it must be unbearable for Britney, whose career began aged 11 on US TV show 'The New Mickey Mouse Club'.
Lily added: "I was 19 when I started doing this, so I can't even imagine what it must be like for her.
"I find it sort of nightmarish on some days but amazing on others, and I am no way as successful or famous as she is.
"I mean, I wake up in the morning and there are five paparazzi outside my house pretty much every day.
"She must feel like, 'God I need to get away.' "
Lily's kind words are a change of heart for the usually outspoken star, known for publicly criticising stars she dislikes.
She previously said Madonna "should put it away now she has had a couple of kids". |
