George Clooney, who was injured in a motorcycle accident last month, defended the medical staff that took care of him. According to People, after learning that 40 employees at Palisades Medical Center were being investigated, and more than a dozen were suspended without pay, Clooney spoke in their defense. The suspensions were given because many employees revealed information to the media about Clooney's state, as well as that of his girlfriend, Sarah Larson. Clooney stated, "This is the first I've heard of it. And while I very much believe in a patient's right to privacy, I would hope that this could be settled without suspending medical workers." An employee representative stated, "It was inappropriate but they are paying a steep price ... The apology to him for his privacy rights [is necessary], but I think, in fact, the hospital is overreacting." The medical centre takes any violation of their policies very seriously. |
