Australian singer Kylie Minogue was honoured with a prestigious award last weekend in London. The 39-year-old star received the Music Industry Trust award to mark 20 years as a singer. The singer stated it was an "incredible honour" to receive the award. Past recipients included Elton John and Peter Gabriel. Kylie has been fighting breast cancer since 2005 and has been a pop icon for the last 20 years. This award is "recognition of her universally acclaimed status as an icon of pop and style achieved over a 20 year career which has seen her reinvent, experiment and inspire." Kylie received the award just a few weeks before the launch of her new album, the first album that she has done since she was diagnosed with breast cancer. |
