Actress Hilary Swank has been fined for bringing fruit into New Zealand. Swank will have to pay $163 for breaking the New Zealand law banning the importation of foreign fruit, after the Million Dollar Baby actress forgot to declare the apple and orange in her bag, when she touched down in the country. She had appealed the first charge, but her plea was rejected, and she now has to pay additionl costs on top of her fine, which come to about £11. She explained, "After my 20-hour flight I simply forgot I had one orange and one apple. I do apologize sincerely." |
