Beyonce Knowles in a Musical?

Singer and actress Beyonce Knowles look set to join the cast of the musical film Dreamgirls, which is a story loosely based on the life of Diana Ross.

The R&B star is in discussions with Dreamworks for a part in the movie which will be directed by Bill Condon (Kinsey, Chicago).

Filming for the musical is scheduled to begin next autumn in Los Angeles.

Knowles will also be starring in the remake of The Pink Panther, with Steve Martin and Kevin Kline, scheduled for release in August.
