Nirvana, The Beach Boys and Dizzy Gillespie have all been preserved for future generations in the musical archives of the American Library of Congress. The trio Nirvana, largely responsible for 90s Grunge music, will have Nevermind preserved at the library. The same will be done with Pet Sounds, by The Beach Boys in 1966, which has always been considered one of the most popular records of the 21st century. For jazzman Dizzy Gillespie, the song Manteca, recorded in 1947 will be archived, which was a collaboration with Chano Pozo, and has an Afro-Cuban sound. Music is not the only thing being entered into the library, the first words of Neil Armstrong when he landed on the moon will also be kept for posterity. |
