Mel Gibson is Interested in John Paul II

Actor and director Mel Gibson has announced he wants to turn the life of the late Pope John Paul II into a film.

According to the New York Post, Gibson had already begun working on the movie, and has sent a crew to Rome to film the Pope's funeral for the ending.

The Australian star was commended for his film The Passion of the Christ, considered to be one of the most important religious films ever made.
