Spiderman star Tobey Maguire is set to take the lead role in Sony Pictures' adaptation of Isaac Adamson's book Tokyo Suckerpunch. Ed Solomon has been hired to write the screenplay. In the book, Billy Chaka writes a column that casts him as a macho hero living in Tokyo. When the story is selected to be made into a movie, Chaka travels to the set to watch the filming, where he hates what they've done with his character, and clashes with the director, who is later found murdered. Solomon also wrote the scripts for Men In Black, Charlie's Angels, Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure, and X-Men. |
