Amanda Peet has joined the cast of The Martian Child, along with John Cusack Joan Cusack, John's sister, will also be starring in the movie, playing the sister to her real-life brother's character. Menno Meyjes is directing the adaptation of the novel by sci-fi writer David Gerrold, which was adapted by Jonathan Tolins and Seth Bass. The movie is reportedly similar to both Parenthood and E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, with John Cusack playing a man who adopts a 7 year-old boy who is actually a martian, following the death of his wife. Peet, who is currently on screens in Woody Allen's Melinda and Melinda, will play the new father's best friend. Peet can also be seen from 22nd April in the romantic comedy A Lot Like Love with Ashton Kutcher. |
