According to the couple's former nanny, Abbie Gibson, who worked for the Beckhams for two years, their marriage is seriously on the rocks. The story came out first in the News of the World and was then picked up by the media in Spain, where the couple now live. Gibson is said to have been paid £300,000 for her story, telling all about the footballer and former Spice Girl. On Saturday night, lawyers for the couple made a last-ditch attempt to prevent the story from being published, claiming it was breach of the confidentiality clause in Gibson's contract.
