Britney Spears was reunited with her sons on Saturday (23.02.08).
The troubled singer - who lost visitation rights to two-year-old Sean Preston and Jayden James, 17 months, earlier this year - spent three hours with the boys, along with her father Jamie and her psychiatrist, in her Hollywood home. Mark Vincent Kaplan, the lawyer for Britney's ex-husband Kevin Federline, said his client had been instrumental in reinstating Britney's visitation rights, adding: "The process of reinstating the children's mother as a participant in their lives can commence."
A court order preventing Britney from seeing her sons was put in place at the beginning of the year after she refused to return the children to Kevin. After police were called to her Los Angeles home, Britney was taken to a local hospital for psychiatric treatment. She was later released but was readmitted earlier this month and spent six days receiving treatment for mental health problems.
Meanwhile, it has been revealed the 26-year-old singer has "lost" $60 million in 12 months of extravagant spending. Last year, Britney was listed by America's prestigious Forbes magazine as having an estimated wealth of more than $100 million. However, in court papers recently filed by Britney's lawyer Adam Streisand, the 'Toxic' star's estimated fortune has now dramatically shrunk to $40 million - raising questions about the shortfall in her earnings.
A source said: "Britney has been spending like a woman possessed for the past 12 months, splashing her cash on private jets, hotels, and legal and medical bills. Her parents were horrified when they looked at her accounts." Britney's father Jamie also reportedly asked the IRS, the US tax service, to investigate the singer's finances in a bid to get her accounts in order. |
