Ozzy Osbourne's run of bad luck seems to be continuing, after he recently learnt that he has Parkin syndrome, and will have to take daily medication for the rest of his life.
The illness, a form of Parkinson's disease, causes degeneration of certain kinds of neurones.
Osbourne, 56, was given the all-clear after being tested in 2003 for shaking which was affecting his quality of life. Presuming it was down to damage caused in his drink and drug-taking heyday, it was a relief for the singer when he learnt tht it ran in his family: "Now I know it runs in the family. A doctor in Los Angeles tried to explain what was happening, but I didn't believe him until I got a second opinion." He added: "When I spoke to my sister, she told me that my mum and grandma had it too. Thanks for telling me!"
Forms of Parkinsons disease affect over 4 million people worldwide. |
