Madonna says her struggle to the top was the inspiration behind her latest movie 'Filth And Wisdom', on which she makes her directorial debut.
Madonna says her struggle for success was the inspiration behind her latest movie.
The 'Material Girl' singer - who makes her directorial debut with 'Filth And Wisdom' - admits she based some of the film on her fight for fame and music stardom.
She said: "One of the things that I explore in the film is struggle. If I look back at the beginning of my career, I can recall those moments of struggle like it was yesterday. There are aspects that I could relate to completely and I could access that memory and put it in the story."
Madonna - who is married to British director Guy Ritchie - moved to New York in the late 70s when she first tried to make it in the pop world and the mother-of-three insists she will always be grateful for what she has in her life now.
She added: "I think 30 years ago happiness meant to me that I could feed myself and put a roof over my head, I could survive in New York, find a place in the world and have my voice be heard. Now happiness is being grateful that all those things continue to happen to me." |
