Hilary Swank Goes Back to School

Hilary Swank is going to star in the drama Freedom Writers, directed by Richard LaGravenese and produced by Paramount Pictures.

The project was inspired by the book The Freedom Writer's Diaries: How a Teacher and 150 Teens Used Writing to Change Themselves and the World Aroud Them, was written by teacher Erin Gruwell and her students.

Gruwell was assigned a group of students who had been labelled as unteachable, and successfully used reading and writing to teach them tolerance and comprehension.
