The 'Transformers? actor paid the sum in exchange for having the misdemeanour charge against him dismissed by a court in California?s Burbank yesterday (24.04.08).
The 21-year-old star - who was cited for unlawful smoking on February 18 - was not present at the hearing.
Last month, LaBeouf entered a not guilty plea over the charge after a judge issued a $1,000 warrant for his arrest when he failed to appear at a hearing. The warrant was later dismissed.
He was also arrested in November for reportedly refusing to leave a Chicago pharmacy.
All charges were later dropped, but LaBeouf admitted to being embarrassed by his behaviour.
He said: "It was a mistake and I am completely embarrassed about it. There are lessons in life I need to learn, and I'm learning all of them in front of the public."
