Linkin Park reportedly wants out of their record label Warner Bros. Records. Allegedly the label has signed deals which will earn them millions, but the group are not happy about their terms.
Linkin Park still has 3 albums left to complete their contract, and stand to lose money if they leave now. Warner Bros. claim that the band's manager is leaking false information, and the label has no intention of going through with any deals at the cost of the artists.
The battle still rages, but Linkin's third album is still due for release next year, causing fans to worry that the release will be affected. The band are still writing, but those who are hoping for a new album anytime soon may have to wait a lot longer than was expected. Rapper Mike Shinoda's solo endeavours have also reportedly put things back, but if you still want a taste of Linkin they've all been working on projects outside of the band. Shinoda is set to release an album under the name Fort Minor and Chester has also recorded collaborations of his own with Z-trip, a song called 'Walking Dead' which is getting plenty of airtime at the moment. He's also written some solo songs, including 'System', and a few others, so there is plenty going on in the Linkin camp. Here's to hoping the band get their label troubles sorted out soon! |
