The 'Spider-Man' star checked into Utah's Cirque Lodge treatment facility - which previously helped Lindsay Lohan and Eva Mendes - in February amid rumours she was being treated for alcoholism and drug use, claims she has now refuted.
She said: "I didn't go to Cirque Lodge for alcohol abuse or drug abuse, I went there for depression. I was struggling, and I had the opportunity to go somewhere and take care of myself. I was fortunate to have the resources to do it. My friends and family thought it was a good idea, too."
The 26-year-old actress also spoke candidly about her depression, insisting the condition is misunderstood.
She added to 'E! News': "There's been a lot of misrepresentation about what is going on in my life. Depression is pretty serious and should not be gossiped about."
