A list of the best 100 films of all time has been created by two cinema critics from Time magazine. Richard Schickel and Richard Corliss have compiled the alphabetical list, published on Sunday, which reads as a who's who from the film industry. Classics that have stood the test of time and more recent blockbusters have all made the ranks, including Lawrence of Arabia, Casablanca, Citizen Kane, Finding Nemo and City of God. Fans may not agree with the list, but the critics say that they intended the list to be a starting point, that would inspire discussions and disagreements, leading people to talk about the films on the list, and share what they love about cinema. The most popular director on the list was Martin Scorcese, who had three films listed, while the most popular actor was Robert DeNiro, who was in 5 of the movies on the list. |
