The former Culture Club singer was prevented from entering the country earlier this month when immigration officials denied his visa - forcing him to cancel a New York concert and putting his US tour in doubt.
However, George - who was arrested last year on charges of assault and false imprisonment - refuses to get disheartened, despite not being allowed to enter the country until his November trial is over and revealed his plans for 2009.
He said: "I'm feeling very upbeat at the moment. Yes, it's disappointing because of the fans and a lot of people have bought airline tickets, so I'm disappointed for them. But if the tour doesn't happen now, it will happen in the New Year.
"It's not over. It's not like I'm going to have to do my career in America by satellite!"
George's legal team are currently working to convince authorities to grant him a visa which would allow him to complete the 24-city US tour but, in the meantime, the 47-year-old singer is determined to remain positive.
He added: "I'm sober - I've put my head back on the right way. I'm very happy at the moment - that kind of dictates how I react to certain situations. I'm not going to get wound up - there's no point." |
