The film X-Men 3 has lost its director, Matthew Vaughn, just weeks before it was due to go into production. The British filmmaker said that personal reasons were behind the decision, which was announced just 9 weeks before filming begins. Vaughn was originally planning on commuting from his home and family in London to Vancouver, where primary production will take place, but as the project's start grew nearer, he realised that he would have to uproot his family for at least a year to Los Angeles. He was not willing to make that move. The producers of the movie are hoping to name a new director within the next few days. The stars from the previous two films are returning for the third entry. X-Men 3 should be ready for audiences on May 26th, 2006. |
