Oasis star Noel Gallagher has revealed he watched Jay-Z perform at the Glastonbury music festival, despite criticising the singer being chosen to headline the world-famous event. Noel Gallagher watched Jay-Z perform at the Glastonbury music festival. Despite criticising the hip-hop star being chosen to headline the world-famous event, the Oasis rocker admits he enjoyed the set, which included the '99 Problems' singer covering the famous Oasis track 'Wonderwall'. Noel said: "The 'Wonderwall' thing, Glastonbury's full of those moments. That's what Glastonbury's all about. "I was talking to a guy the other day, he goes, 'How do you feel about it?' And I went, 'I was there, it was great. Who do you think started the sing-a-long?' " Noel - who said it was "wrong" for Jay-Z to have such an important role in the music event - also insists the attention his remarks got was excessive because he never criticised the star personally. He added: "There's f**k all going on at the moment, so people are so desperate to write something about it. It got a bit out of hand. "I can sit here and say I never dissed that guy. I never would. "I wasn't saying I was better than Jay-Z as a person or rock was greater than hip-hop. I said what I said and it was wrong, or it was taken wrong and that's all I've got to say." |
