Eighties rockers Duran Duran are returning to the studio this summer to begin work on a follow-up CD to their successful comeback album, Astronaut, in 2004. Keyboardist Nick Rhodes confirmed to Billboard that the group have planned a string of songwriting sessions between August and December, and are hoping to be in the studio for January. If everything goes well, the new album should be on the shelvex for summer 2006. "The band's in great shape -- we've played a lot of shows," notes Rhodes. "We did 45 shows across America in the first three months of the year. We're ready." Duran Duran are scheduled to take part in the Live 8 concert on July 2nd in Rome. |
