Pink Floyd have confirmed that they will be reuniting for the first time since 1981 for the London Live 8 concert. Roger Waters will be joining Dave Gilmour, Nick Mason and Richard Wright for the first time in 24 years, at this concert on July 2 at Hyde Park. "Like most people I want to do everything I can to persuade the G8 leaders to make huge commitments to the relief of poverty and increased aid to the third world," explained the band's Dave Gilmour. He added, "Any squabbles Roger and the band have had in the past are so petty in this context, and if reforming for this concert will help focus attention then it's got to be worthwhile." Pink Floyd will be playing along with Madonna, REM, U2, Paul McCartney, Elton John, Coldplay, Robbie Williams, as well as many other artists. |
