British group Coldplay has reached number one with their new album in both North America and Great Britain. Their third studio album, X&Y, has already sold more than 737,000 copies in the U.S. and 464,000 copies in England. In America, it is the second best selling CD of the year, following 50 Cent's release, The Massacre, last March, while on the other side of the Atlantic the group have taken the number two spot from a single week's worth of sales, for the first time since Be Here Now from Oasis in 1997. |
