Auction website eBay has bowed to pressure from Bob Geldof and decided to suspend the sales of tickets for the Live 8 concert in London. After pleas from the concert organisers, the directors of the biggest sales spot on the internet have decided to review their position on the debate. The organisers of the concerts, in aid of hunger and poverty in Africa, are strongly opposed to the sale of tickets resulting in profit for individuals. The Live 8 concerts will take place simultaneously in London, Paris, Philadelphia, Berlin, Edinburgh and Rome on July 2. The London show will include performances by Pink Floyd, Madonna, REM, U2, Paul McCartney, Elton John, Coldplay and Robbie Williams, among others. |
