Oprah Tops List of Most Influential

American television hostess Oprah Winfrey has been chosen as the most influential person in the world by Forbes magazine.

Each year, Forbes creates a list of the 100 most powerful personalities in the world. Winfrey took first place this year, over golfer Tiger Woods and Australian actor/producer Mel Gibson.

Newcomers to this year`s list were the stars of the television series Desperate Housewives.
