Organisers have announced that Moscow will also be holding a Live 8 concert in the Red Square. Following London, Paris, Berlin, Rome, Philadelphia, Tokyo, Johannesburg, and the Eden Project in southwest England, the worldwide Live 8 concert is heading to Moscow. In a last-minute decision, so far the Pet Shop Boys are the only act to have confirmed that they will play on Saturday, but other artists are expected to be announced soon. The free concerts are timed to coincide with the G8 summit, to help persuade wealthy G8 countries to the Third World countries reduce their debt. |
