Bosses of talkSPORT are desperate to sign Oasis rocker Noel Gallagher and Russell Brand for their own weekly radio show after the duo agreed to host a one-off special this Sunday (19.04.09).

Bosses are desperate to sign up the Oasis guitarist and pal Russell Brand for a weekly slot on talkSPORT after the duo agreed to host a one-off special - Russell's first radio show since he resigned following a row over lewd phone calls on his BBC Radio 2 show in October.
A source said: "Noel and Russell play off each other really well and they're both really knowledgeable about sport, in particular football.
"We're expecting their show this week to be a massive hit and as neither of them are ever lost for words, they'd have more than enough to say to fill a regular spot."
West Ham United fan Russell - who pens a weekly sports column for British newspaper The Guardian - and avid Manchester City supporter Noel will tackle the biggest soccer stories of the week in their show, which airs from 9pm to 11pm on Sunday (19.04.09).
Moz Dee, talkSPORT Programme Director, said: "talkSPORT welcomes Russell back to radio. Both are proper football fans who just happen to be two of the most creative minds in popular culture."
Russell quit his award-winning Saturday evening BBC radio programme last year amid public pressure over a series of offensive answering machine messages he and Jonathan Ross left veteran actor Andrew Sachs.
In the calls, Russell revealed he'd had sex with Sachs' granddaughter Georgina Baillie.
At the time, Noel spoke out in support of his friend, insisting the incident had been blown out of proportion.
The 'Falling Down' rocker said: "At worst it was a juvenile prank that wasn't unfunny - but it's hardly offensive.
"It's so typical of the English in general - 10,000 people get outraged, but only five days after it has happened." |
