Just a few hours after the final chord was struck in the Live 8 concerts, pirated copies of the show were already up for sale on eBay. According to MTV eBay directors acted swiftly to stop the vendors from selling the illegal recordings, which were selling for $31 each, and contained footage from the concerts in London and Philadelphia. EMI has already paid millions for the right to sell DVDs from the event. In other Live 8 news, several artists are enjoying a boost in sales of their work after the event. Pink Floyd has seen an increase of 1,343% in sales of their Echoes album in the United Kingdom. |
