Nas has posted a clip on YouTube in which he reveals his newborn son with estranged wife Kelis is called Knight.
Kelis and Nas have named their son Knight.
The estranged couple - who are currently in the middle of an acrimonious divorce - welcomed their first child into the world on Tuesday (21.07.09), with Nas posting a clip on video sharing website YouTube to announce the new arrival.
Nas said in the excerpt: "My son is born today, so shout-out to my son, Knight."
Kelis missed a New York court appearance relating to the divorce when she went into labour on Tuesday and it is believed Nas was not allowed to be present at the birth.
New reports suggest the 35-year-old rapper did attempt to visit Kelis in hospital, but was barred from entering as he was drunk.
Gossip website TMZ reports: "After a performance in New York last night (21.07.09) - where he told fans he was hammered on champagne - Nas tried to roll by Kelis' hospital room around 1am this morning (22.07.09). But we're told Nas was turned away because he was too wasted."
Kelis filed for divorce in April apparently citing "irreconcilable differences".
However, it has been claimed the 29-year-old singer had actually become tired of Nas' verbal abuse and infidelity
A source told Vibe magazine: "Nas can be a great guy, but he blows up. One day he's sweet, the next he's in a rage. He loves Kelis, but she's done with him."
In June, the 'Milkshake' singer took to her Twitter blog to blast men who cheat on their partners.
She wrote: "This lovely day I would like to touch on cheaters. Super brief! Why be cowardly, why not go after what you really want? Do people know what they want? Probably not." |
