| Just days after taking the throne, Prince Albert of Monaco has admitted that he fathered an illegitimate child. In a statement to the press, the Prince stated that his son is nearly 2 years old. The child is the result of a relationship that he had with a flight attendant from Togo. Lawyers for the royal family said that Albert wants to take the resposibility of being a father, and wants his child to have a normal life. The boy is now a legal heir to the family's wealth, but will not be eligible to succeed to the throne. The story first came to the public's attention last May, the magazine Paris Match published photos of the child's mother, Nicole Coste, and her son Alexandre, with Prince Albert. |
