The soccer star is reportedly so desperate to leave Los Angeles and move back to England, he has promised the singer a luxurious fashion wing at their Hertfordshire mansion - nicknamed 'Beckingham Palace'.
A source told Britain's Daily Star newspaper: "David is desperate to lure Victoria back to England. He's very honest with her about his ambitions. These include his dream of being the most-capped player in the history of English football.
"To fulfil this fantasy he needs to play for England in the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
"But he knows his wife loves their new life in Hollywood."
The sportsman has reportedly told the 35-year-old singer-turned-fashion designer - who already has a workshop in London - he will splash out on a lavish extension with mannequins, sewing machines and a mini-runway if she agrees to the move.
David, 34, is believed to be keen to leave his current club Los Angeles Galaxy after he was subjected to abuse from angry supporters.
The athlete has been linked to a number of English teams, including London sides Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur. |
