| Desperate Housewives, the hit television series about a group of suburban American women, has been invited to compete in the 57th annual Emmy Awards. The show received 15 nominations in total, along with another favorite, Will & Grace, which received the same number of nominations. Cable channel HBO again dominated its category with nominations for "The Life and Death of Peter Sellers" and "Warm Springs", each gathering 16 bids. Everybody Loves Raymond, which recently ended its run after 9 seasons, received 13 nominations in the Best Comedy category. Also in this category, along with Desperate Housewives and Will & Grace, are Arrested Development and Scrubs. Lost, the drama about stranded plane crash survivors, took 12 nominations in the Best Dramatic Series category, and will compete with Deadwood, Six Feet Under, 24, and The West Wing. The nominees were announced this morning at a ceremony at the Leonard H. Goldenson theatre. |
