Mel Gibson To Direct Apolcalypto

Australian actor and director Mel Gibson has announced that he will be behind the camera again for the film Apocalypto.

In addition to directing the movie, Gibson also wrote the script for the historical film, which is set 3,000 years ago.  However, the title means "new beginning" in Greek.

Other films that Gibson has directed include Braveheart and The Passion of the Christ.

Filming of Apocalypto is scheduled to begin in October in Mexico, for a summer 2006 release.
