Just a few months after the confirmation of Mike Shinoda's side project, Fort Minor 'The Rising Tied' (due for release November 22nd), rumours surfaced that the other LP frontman, Chester Bennington, was planning a solo project of his own.
After weeks of media speculation, Bennington finally confirmed the rumours, adding that he is making a rock album, influenced by his early mentors, Stone Temple Pilots and Depeche Mode. The record is to be completed later this year for an early 2006 release, and Bennington has already performed a song from the album called 'Let Down' at ReactNow, a concert brought about as a relief effort for victims of Hurricane Katrina on US television.
Mike Shinoda's 'Fort' is also well under way, he has recently completed a European tour, and is planning a US promotional tour and a video for the single 'Remember the Name' before the album comes out.
A third Linkin Parker, turntablist Joseph Hahn is moving into the world of film, having recently directed an independent film entitled, 'Seed', which he hopes to release at the Sundance Film Festival next year. Fans need not fear for the group's future however, Shinoda has dispelled rumours that they are breaking up, saying that they are hard at work in the studio writing and recording new material for release next year, in a follow-up to the album 'Meteora' which sold upwards of 800,000 in its first week out and has to date sold approximately 13 million copies. Linkin Park fans are anxiously awaiting the new material, but for the time being everyone is enjoying the band members' new projects. |
