The re-opening of a newly redecorated Versace shop on Sloane Street was a star-studded affair, as Donatella Versace welcomed a host of celebrities from the music, cinema and fashion worlds.
Mariah Carey, Rupert Everett, Brittany Murphy, Manolo Blahnik, Vivienne Westwood, Prince Pavlos of Greece, Jamelia, Yasmin le Bon, Alek Wek, Erin O’Connor and John Frieda were all seen at the extravagant party. Carey was in a mood to celebrate her own good news as well, having been nominated for several American Music Awards.
The US singer has four nominations, beating Kelly Clarkson, 50 Cent and Green Day, who all have three each. Other artists to receive nominations, are the Black Eyed Peas, Destiny's child, Eminem, Fantasia, Toby Keith, Tim McGraw and Gretchen Wilson.
The 33rd American Music Awards will take place on the 22nd November at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. The nominations are based on music sales, and the winners will be chosen after a survey of 20 000 people. |
