British singer Boy George was arrested on Friday in New York, for suspected drug possession and for making a false burglary call. George O'Dowd, better known by his stage name Boy George, called the police at 3:00 in the morning to report a burglary at his apartment, in New York's Little Italy. When officers arrived, they found traces of cocaine beside the star's computer. The 44 year-old former lead singer of the group Culture Club, was found guilty of heroin possession in 1986 and was sent to a detoxification centre, but it is believed that he has put his problems behind him. Boy George was apparently in New York to work on his solo album. If found guilty, he could be prevented from returning to the USA. |
