Rod Stewart has announced that he is retiring from the music world, to concentrate on his family. The father of six made the announcement to Ellen DeGeneres on US television, adding that he doesn't want to be far from his family, and that he wants to watch his children grow up. Stewart is expecting his seventh child later this year, and is determined not to make the same mistakes that he made with his previous children. When his fiance, Penny Lancaster, gives birth to their child, the singer will retire. Stewart explained, "With my other children, I was touring a lot, being a drunk rock and roller and wasn't home." Lancaster, 34, recently confided that she would like to see her future husband, 60, more often. She said, "That's what I've always wanted - to be with the man I love and to have our child. Nothing else could make me this happy." |
