Soccer ace David Beckham reportedly earnt £22 million last year, making him the highest-earning footballer in the world. On top of his £5 million salary from Spanish team Real Madrid, he also raked in £17 million in advertising and sponsorship deals.
The figures were revealed by the football star's UK-based company, Footwork Productions, proving that he is still extremely attractive to big business, despite problems in his personal life. It was claimed in 2004 that he had had affairs with PA Rebecca Loos and beautician Danielle Heath, but the allegations do not seem to have made a dent in his bank account, as he has made millions from deals with Vodaphone, Gilette, Adidas and Pepsi.
This comes as welcome news to the Beckhams, who face a court case at the end of the year, which threatens to blow the lid on their private life. |
