A new play for the king of slapstick cinema, Woody Allen's Murder Mysteries, is set to open at the Warehouse Theatre, Croydon in early December.
The play is an adaptation of six short dramas written by Woody Allen at the beginning of his career, and will see the theatre transformed into a 1940's New York jazz club with live jazz to bring the evening together.
This is the first time the great director has granted permission for his work to be adapted in such a way: "I love the idea of having my shortpieces adapted by a skilful writer. It's very exciting."
The script is a very faithful adaptation of these little-known Woody Allen stories, and is naturally hilarious. The show will run until February, but tickets are said to be selling out fast. |
