John Lennons' cousin and oldest surviving relative Stanley Parkes has hit out at Channel Four's decision to Air a documentary about his killer, Mark Chapman.
The television company is set to broadcast 15 year-old tapes made by Chapman's biographer Jack Jones, on the 25th anniversay of the legendary singer's murder in a documentary entitled I Killed John Lennon. They insist that neither Chapman nor his family have received any payment, but to Parkes this is simply not enough: "It's just glorifying a killer. Our family are devastated by that. It should never have been allowed to happen, especially on the anniversary."
His comments come just a few weeks after Lennon's widow, Yoko Ono slammed US network NBC for planning to broadcast the same material. |
