Mariah Carey Set to Sweep Grammies

Mariah Carey has sealed her comeback with eight nominations at the prestigious Grammy awards, in the US.

Carey, up for Best Album as well as Best Song, was over the moon to hear the news, telling MTV: "It's truly amazing and I'M really blessed to be making the music I love".

Man of the moment Kanye West has been nominated for Best Album and Best Song, with a total of eight nominations as well. U2 have also received nominations.

The Grammy Awards will be held in Los Angeles on February 8th.
