Outspoken music maker Moby has slammed some of hiphop’s biggest stars for their homophobic and misogynistic music, after a crazed Eminem fan was convicted of murdering a woman in the UK and hiding her body in a suitcase, mimicking the star’s ‘Stan’ video.
The star previously spoke on the subject when British house group The Prodigy released Smack My Bitch Up, and is known to deplore the spread of misongyny in R’n’B and hiphop, especially in Eminem’s music. In a statement on his website, he also slammed the media for promoting such artists, and glamourising a lifestyle which made violence against women and homosexual acceptable: “you have blood on your hands, and you should be deeply, deeply troubled at the culture that you've helped to create.” |
