Keira Knightley’s career is on the up, after she was nominated for prestigious Golden Globe award earlier today.
The British actress heads up the British contingent of nominees at next year’s awards, along with Dame Judi Dench, a veteran of both stage and screen. Both are up for Best Actress, 20-year-old Knightly for Pride and Prejudice, and Dench for Mrs Henderson Presents. Rachel Weisz has also received a nomination for Best Supporting Actress in The Constant Gardener.
The winners will be announced at a glam ceremony on Los Angeles, in January, in what is seen by Hollywood as a forerunner to the Oscars. It is Knightley’s first nomination for a major award, since she shot to fame in Bend it Like Beckham in 2002. |
