This might be a particularly hard one for animal lovers but your pets can carry pollen on their fur and so keeping your distance (or just washing them regularly) could help.

“Stroking pets in hay fever season is a bad idea. Pollen sticks to their fur so if you want to cosy up to them make sure you or someone else brushes them thoroughly before they come inside,” says John.
